How to Get Some Work Done in a Busy Home

One of the harder things about working from home can be WORKING FROM HOME! What I mean is that if you have kids, a spouse, pets or anyone else demanding time and attention from you it can be really hard to get all the work done that you need to get done. Here are some tips that should help you get more done at home no matter how busy your home is.

1. Put a sign on the door

This might sound overly simple but sometimes you just need to ask that people give you a little space. This of course will only work if your children are old enough to take care of themselves (I'm guessing a baby with a poopy diaper doesn't care if you're on an important call) but if your kids are old enough ask them that when the sign is on your office door they don't bother you unless they really need something. It might sound like it's too easy but most kids will respect it if you let them know how important it is.

2. Work for short periods of time

Sure it would be great if you could work for 4 hours at a time on your business but for many people that's just not a reality. So try working for about 30 minutes at a time several times a day. You would be really surprised at how much you can get done in a half an hour.

3. Work outside the home

If you need to leave the house for a few hours do it! A Coffee shop is a great place to get away drink some coffee and get some work done on the computer. So if working at home just isn't working out try that for a couple of hours and see how much you can get done.
